The Taxation & Revenue Department of New Mexico is hiring a Motor Vehicle Office Support Specialist to process various driver and vehicle-related transactions. This full-time, permanent position plays a key role in delivering customer service at Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) offices, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Salary
- Hourly: $17.99 - $27.89
- Annual: $37,422 - $58,003
- Funding Range: $21.86 - $23.62 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Processing driver’s licenses, commercial licenses, permits, and ID cards.
- Handling citation payments, military licenses, and vehicle records requests.
- Sorting and distributing mail, scanning documents, and completing financial deposits.
- Providing customer support via phone and in-person at MVD offices.
- Assisting courts and law enforcement with driver and vehicle record requests.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in office support, clerical work, or administrative tasks.
- Strong customer service skills, including handling phone inquiries.
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of office, clerical, or administrative experience.
- A combination of college education and experience may substitute for requirements.
Employment Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must complete Defensive Driving Course Certification within 6 months.
- Must be current on all tax reporting and payments.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Working Conditions
