PNM is hiring a Power Production Engineer (I-IV) to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of its power generation assets, including coal-fired and gas turbine plants. This role is essential in ensuring reliable energy production while advancing efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for generation assets, troubleshooting, and condition assessments.
- Develop and implement power plant projects, including performance, cost, and scheduling studies.
- Create and review work scopes, procedures, drawings, and designs for plant modifications.
- Oversee vendor-supplied equipment and evaluate repair and test procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, etc.).
- Write capital budget requests and provide technical justifications for project investments.
- Represent PNM in technical matters, providing expertise and guidance to internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- Engineer I-IV levels available based on experience (1-7+ years).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred for higher-level roles.
- Experience with high-temperature, high-pressure systems, and large rotating equipment.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
- Time is split between office and fieldwork at PNM's coal-fired and gas turbine generation sites.
- Requires working around high voltage (up to 345kV) and large-scale industrial equipment.
- Must be comfortable working in power plant conditions, including high temperatures and pressures.
